Jesus established water baptism as a commitment opportunity for believers when He gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:16. Water baptism is far more than a ritual or religious exercise. It is not only our personal choice, but it’s a command for believers to obey. Water baptism is a public, outward declaration that reflects a personal, inward faith in Jesus Christ. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and signifies the believer’s death to the old life and his/her resurrection as a new creation in Christ. For more on believer’s baptism see Romans 6:1-8 and Colossians 2:12. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office at 384-5403.
